Every April, the United Nations commemorates the 1994 genocide in Rwanda, where more than 800,000 Tutsis and moderate Hutus are estimated to have been killed over a period of 100 days, starting on 7 April.

In Ukraine, the observance of the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Rwanda Genocide will take place in the form of a public event for students with screening of a documentary film "Duhozanye" about Rwandan women’s association, followed by "Living Library" interactive discussion with experts.
