Lusia Bondarenko participated in the conference #YOUACT-YOUth ACTivism shaping our Intercultural Europe, organized by The UNITED European network against racism, fascism and nationalism.
It was fruitful conference week, where participants from different countries of the world had the opportunity to present their organizations and their activities in human rights movement, to learn more about crisis in Hungary («What went wrong in Hungary» - panel session ) and also refugee situation in Europe, to work a lot in interesting workshops and to find supporters in the fight against racism, fascism and nationalism
We had a great infomarket, where participants exchanged information and best practices from their organizations in a "speed-dating" activity. As well as sharing ideas and experiences, we shared snacks and treats that we brought with us from all over Europe.
Lusia Bondarenko presented different projects of Kyiv educational center "TolerSpace".The great interest aroused the project «Building bridges not walls»-an intensive course for IDP children, directed for building dialogue and reconciliation. TolerClub teenagers involvement.
We also practiced in the roleplaying exercise where participants were able to feedback and discuss in working groups the issues of increasing levels of racism and hostility to migrants and refugees in Europe.
We also had a very useful session about finding funding opportunities for NGO projects. As well as the European Youth Foundation, we have also heard from Anna Fischer of the Open Society Foundations, and Dora Halasz of Erasmus+ Agency Hungary. Now Laura Quintana of Minority Rights Groupis talking about alternative funding opportunities – can non-profit organizations be profitable?
"UNITED is special and we shall all work together to ensure that it keeps existing" - Mr Atkinson from HOPE not hate.
And the end of our conference we walked around amazing Budapest, having nice time.
So, let’s stay United against racism, fascism and nationalism.
